The Daniel Fast: January 3-23, 2012

Daniel Fast Overview

The Daniel Fast is a spiritual discipline designed to better connect us with God. As leaders of Gordy Memorial C.O.G.I.C ,we'll take 21 days, the three weeks of prayer, fasting and consecration ,to deepen our relationship with God and center ourselves around what God is going to do in our church, families and in our lives during this series. We are praying that hundreds of people will come to faith in Christ during the Gospel series as we invite our friends who are “far from God”. We will be reading and meditating on the book of St. Luke and in conjunction with the fast, we'll be reading one chapter in the book of John per day for the duration of the fast. We will come together for 1hr in corporate prayer at the Church from 7-8pm: except for Friday night our time will be from 6:30pm to 7:30pm. On each Friday night during the fast it will be revival night at Gordy Memorial C.O.G.I.C. service will start after prayer. This will be a challenging process, but we look forward to seeing what God does in our church and experiencing him with intensity during the 21 days of the fast.

Remember, every sacrifice is a gain!!!!!

Who: The entire Church staff and Members will be participating in the fast during this exciting season.

The Power of a Sanctified Life

The Power of a Sanctified Life:

The word sanctified means: sacred, holy, consecrated and blessed. Therefore in order for a person to live a life of sanctification he or she must be holy and live a life that is consecrated unto the Lord. We are not sanctified by our own works alone but by putting our faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. By putting our faith in Jesus, He gives us the power, the ability to live this committed life. Let me take a moment to give a short bible study on this matter for the purpose of bringing you closer to God that you may be able to walk in your calling...

First of all I want to start by telling you that Sanctification is a process of God’s Grace by which the believer (you and me) are separated from sin and become dedicated to God’s righteousness. God sanctifies us by His Word, (read John 17:17) and by the Holy Spirit, (read Rom. 8:3-4).

We are made holy by the Trinity: It is the work of God the Father, (read Jude), the work of God the Son, (read Heb. 2:11) and the work of God the Holy Spirit, (read 2 Thess. 2:13, 1 Pet. 1:2). All of who, and what God is, is in the process of making us holy, sanctifying us. Now I want you to know that Sanctification is a process that continues during our lives as believers (Heb.10:14).

Now after saying all of that, we also have a responsibility in the process of our sanctification. We are commanded by God to be holy (Lev.11:44, 1 Pet. 1:15-16). As we accept God’s demands of Sanctification, God empowers us to live this life of Joy, Peace, Power, and Victory. God accepts us and we will have a continual non-interrupted fellowship with the Lord. All of this is made possible in a life of Sanctification. So my Sister and Brother, be all you are designed to be in Jesus Christ.

You will not see the wind, neither will you see rain...

You will not see the wind, neither will you see rain:
2 King 3:16-18

Sometimes when we are waiting on God to perform a Miracle for us we can become distracted about the “How” rather then the “What”. We are consumed by how God is going to do what He said. I want you to know that when God makes you a promise you can rest in His Word. Don’t worry about the How; how He’s going to do it, when He’s going to do it, and where He’s going to do it. Just know that God is not a man that He should lie, if He said it He will perform it. First of all He knows us better than we know ourselves: He knows our needs, desires, our limitations, strengths, weakness, and yes what really hinders us from believing totally on Him.

In 2 Kings 3:16, God spoke to the prophet Elisha in a time when the nation of Israel was up against their known enemy, the Moabites. Israel was physically, emotionally and spiritually drained. At this point they were no match for their enemies: they need water but the valley was dry: have you ever been in a place where you just needed a miracle? This was the situation that Israel found themselves in, up against the enemy, tired, no water to drink, beat down. They needed a miracle. I know that some of you might be in this same place…bills mounting up, and no job, sick in your body and no health insurance, car bill due, baby needs a new pair of shoes, waiting on your next pay check, don’t know what you’re going to do…your saying Lord I need a Miracle!

God told Elisha to tell Israel to make this valley full of ditches: before God can do what He wants to do in our life, before the Miracle happen we need to prepare for it…make room for God’s blessing. Dig your ditches means to prepare your Faith, and get an attitude of praise and worship. Notice that this is the only command that God gave Israel…to dig. God is not going to dig ditches for us…we’ve got to believe God for ourselves, we’ve got to trust God, and we must praise Him and do our part. Watch what happened: when Israel dug their ditches in the valley God said that they will not see the wind nor the rain. This miracle is not going to happen in the traditional way. But God is going to do a new thing in this season for you my brother and my sister. Do not expect God to work the same way Your blessing is going to come in a unexpected way. It will not come by the wind or the rain but the valley will be full of water. God will fill your valley with water…God will fill your house with His glory, supply your needs, fill your unemployment with employment, you sick body with healing and yes your empty bank account with finances. Listen to what God said, “And you shall drink…”, not only will God fill your valley but you will be able to enjoy what He has provided for you. So make preparation for your miracle, and watch God fill your valley and get ready to drink. God said in the 18th verse, “And this is but a light thing in the sight of the LORD: he will deliver the Moabites also into your hand.” Oh yes I forgot to tell you; after God fills your Valley He will also give you the victory over the very thing that has been attacking you! It’s not a hard thing with God but a light thing. What a mighty God we serve. So don’t worry about the how, but know that God is more than able. It’s a light thing with God to give you that job. It’s a light thing with God to give you the desires of your Heart. Trust Him today!!!

The Power of a Vision

Having a vision makes the difference between success and failure, victory and defeat, prosperity and poverty. The Bible speaks to us in the book of Prov. 29:18, "Where there is no vision, the people perish". The word perish means there is no restraint. The word restraint means self-control or imprisonment. In other words when a person lives their life without having a vision they will have a life that is out of control and they become bonded by things, people, and situations. For example, you take a person who is naturally blind; they are in darkness and cannot see the beauty of the world and the faces of people around them. When we lack spiritual vision we suffer even a greater setback.

In Matt. 14:22-33, Jesus had sent His disciples to the other side of the lake. They got into a boat and began to sail towards the place of their destination. While in the middle of the sea a storm arose and Jesus came to His disciples walking on the water in the midst of the storm. Because of the violence of the storm, the disciples perceived Jesus to be a ghost. Fear can distort your vision, but Peter stood above the rest and said, “Jesus if it be you, permit me to come” or permit me to step out of this boat and do something that defies nature. You would think that Jesus would tell Peter "No! Are you crazy Peter? No man can walk on water!". But Jesus spoke to Peter and said “Come, step out from the rest of your brothers, and out of the boat that confines you...and come out here with me…". Peter stepped out of the boat and as he fastened his eyes on Jesus, began to walk on water. I can hear the rest of the disciples saying “Hey look, Peter is walking on water. Is he out of his mind?". Peter was doing well until he took his eyes off Jesus. He lost the vision. He began to take notice of the storms around him. The waves and the wind blowing was just a distraction. Distractions can cause you to lose sight of what you were called to do. But while Peter was sinking he cried out to Jesus and said “Lord Save Me!!!" and Jesus took him by the hand and lifted him up. This teaches us that as long as we keep our eyes on Jesus and keep the vision before us, we can do anything…even defy the very laws of nature. Come out from around people who are afraid to move forward, step out of the thing that confines you, never listen to the storm, and most important, by all means Keep your eyes on Jesus.

Encountering the FOG

On my way into work this morning, like many of you I was confronted by the FOG. The roads that I traveled every morning became difficult and challenging to drive. I know every angel, every turn, mile by mile and block by block. But some how as I was driving I was pulled out of my comfort zone when the fog became so think that I no longer could see the road. The road did not change, only my situation changed. My vision was hindered and I had to rely totally on what I knew. After arriving safely at work I watched the Sun rise and the fog began to dissipate.

The fog that we encountered this morning is called radiation fog. It is most common in the fall seasons. It occurs when the nights get longer and land and water surfaces that have warmed up during the summer are still evaporating a lot of water into the atmosphere. In other words FOG is the result of two seasons clashing…summer and fall; the beginning of one and the ending of another.

Traveling life's roads sometimes we will encounter “The FOG” the clashing of two seasons. When this happens we become unclear about our place in life, our future and what God has in store for us: the beginning of one season of our life and the ending of another. In these times, when we are caught between two seasons and our vision is blury we must rely on what we know…”The Word of God”. Situations will change, things and people will come and go, life will have its up’s and downs but the Word of God will never change. The Road that God put you on is still there; stay on the road even when you can’t see it. Remember we walk by faith and not by sight.

Remember this important fact; fog dissipates when the temperature rises and Sun Light breaks forth…you can make it through your “FOG” if you would rise up above what you going through, change the temperature of your praise from low to high… and let the “SON” Jesus Christ break forth in you and through you… Isaiah 58:8

Lord, Give Me My Mountain

Joshua 14:12 “Lord give me my mountain”

I would like to ask you a question; are you ambitious enough to go after you dreams, your blessing, the promises that God has spoken over your life?

Many people might say that having ambitions or being ambitious is being self-centered. Ambition means to have a dream, hope, a purpose and the determination, the drive, and the motivation to reach it. God has placed in each of us the desire to be better, to accomplish great things… whether it’s to raise children in a godly home, to have a successful career, to finish school, to have a strong and healthier marriage, or to grow in the Lord. Whatever the case may be we must understand that having ambitions is God given.

Often times the enemy cripples our ambition. I call it the “A.C”, the Ambition Crippler. The enemy to ambition is our past. Every time God shows you your future, what you can do and what you can become, the devil comes along and shows you your past, your failures, your faults. All of a sudden you become overwhelmed with a spirit of inadequacies and fear comes over you and leaves you paralyzed. Another day goes by, a week, a month, then a year and you find yourself in the same place.

This is what happened to the nation of Israel, they came to the place of their promise, or their blessing. God told them to go up and to possess the land, but instead of possessing their blessing, they ran because of what they saw. It wasn’t the giants that they saw that frightened them, it was how they saw themselves, and they said “We are like grasshoppers in our own sight”. Seeing themselves as being inadequate robbed them of the ambition to go forward.

But forty years later Joshua and Caleb stand with the nation of Israel at the same place of forty years earlier, looking at the their promise. Caleb has seen this place before and says with a loud voice, “Lord give me my mountain”. In other words, I have the ambition, the faith, the motivation to go into my promised land and possess my blessing. Without ambition you will never possess your dreams. So go for it! The Lord has already gone before you to make the way!

Where will you be on Sunday Morning...God’s House or your house?

Where will you be on Sunday Morning...God’s House or your house?

The bible say’s in Hag. 1:4-9 “Is It time for you, O ye, to dwell in your ceiled (house that is made of cedar wood, very costly material) and this house (The Lord’s House) go to waste. Now therefore thus saith the LORD of host; Consider your ways. You have sown much, and bring in little; you eat, but you have not enough; you drink, but ye are not filled with drink; you clothe yourself, but there is none warm; and he that earneth wages earneth to put it into a bag with holes. Thus saith the LORD of host; Consider your ways. Go up to the mountain, and bring wood, and build the house; and I will take pleasure in it, and I will be glorified, saith the LORD."

The point behind this chapter that the Lord was expressing to His people, and it speaks to us today, is to not neglect His house. At times we can be so busy making a living that we give little thought to what’s important to God. God is very concerned about His House and how we treat His House. The house of God is a place of refuge, healing, deliverance, worship, prayer, praise, service, ministering to the needs of all people and most importantly, a place where we come to hear the Word of God.

The house of God should never be ignored, neglected and treated as a last option. We must understand that if we want God to fulfill his promise for our lives and to glorify Him, we must Love what He Loves, and cherish what He cherishes. Therefore God ask us to do four things:

1. Consider our ways: to stop and think about our actions, our behavior, our attitudes and make a change.
2. Come up to the Mountain: a place of high aptitude, another level, to come up higher
3. Bring your wood: bring a sacrifice, resources, to put some wood in your hand.
4. Build the house: come with a spirit to work, serve, to roll your sleeves up and minister to someone.

See you Sunday Morning at God’s House…remember the fire of God’s presence will be there so bring your wood…

God's Recall Letter

God’s Recall Letter: 2 Peter 3:9

Just the other day the Japanese car maker Honda recalled almost one million cars after discovering issues in their computer system.

When the car companies mail out recall letters they are admitting that there are some serious problems with their product and if not corrected it can cause harm even up to the loss of life. Recall letters tells the owners to bring their vehicles back to the dealership for repairs.

But believe it or not there are those who disregard their recall letter and keep driving their cars even when the vehicle can stop, break down or cause an accident. God sends out recall letters to His people every day; it’s His Word. God’s recall letter is calling us to repentance. Listen to what He says in 2 Peter 3:9, “The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us –ward, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance”.

This recall letters is sent out to the nations out of Love. It is because God loves us that He tells us not to keep driving through life with a defected product. Come into the Spiritual Dealership (House of God) to be healed, restored, and forgiven. God is not trying to stop us from driving but He doesn’t want us driving a defected product,He want us to reach our destination safely.

Authority

Authority: Don’t become a spiritual security guard in the kingdom

I was sitting here at my job looking out of the window watching the security guards check people's cars as they go in and out of the complex, and a thought came to my mind; what real authority does a security guard really have? Believe me I’m not down grading a person who might be a security guard but think about it; can a security guard make an arrest? Can they stop traffic? Do they have the power to write tickets, or to investigate a crime? Or are they there to show some level of authority but limited in the role that they perceive to possess.

Here’s the bottom line, when the deal comes down you don’t want to be limited in your role of authority. You do not want to be perceived by your enemy to have something that you really don’t have: its more than a blue uniform, a badge, a stick swinging from your side, but I want the authority, the power, that when you speak the devil knows that Heaven is backing you, that the Holy Spirit is in you and God has His heavenly host standing at attention waiting to do battle on your behalf.

Listen to what Jesus say’s in (Matt. 28:18 ) “And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth”. Jesus gave the Church or the body of Christ the power to finish; carrying out His command…therefore He has deputized you by giving you His Holy Spirit. You have real authority so use it, walk in it and declare it! You're not a spiritual security guard, you’re the real deal…so go forward and win souls for the Kingdom of God.

Be Blessed my brother and my sister in Jesus Name:

Keep Digging

It is a known fact that when they were building the Sears Tower in Chicago, IL, being one of the tallest buildings in the United States, they dug as deep as the building was erected (stories 110 to the height 1,451 feet). Every day the workers would bring in heavy equipment for digging and people would gather around to watch the workers work. Often times people would shout out “Hey, how far down do you have to dig?” The workers would reply, “Until we hit bedrock.” Bedrock was the solid foundation that builders must reach before they could start building. The people were waiting to see the long expected building that was talked about to be one of the tallest, beautiful wonders of the world. I mean if you grow up in Chicago you would think so, but here was the revelation; the workers weren’t building for beauty only but for safety. They knew that in order for the building to stand the test of storms and strong winds that blew off the lake, they had to dig deep until they hit the bed-rock.

My words for you this week are to keep on digging. God is building something beautiful with your life but you must keep digging: there must be a commitment, hard work, a consistent prayer life, and time spent with God in the Word. You must dig deep to withstand the storms of life. Progress is not measured by one day but it’s measured over time. You’re farther than you were last year and closer than you were on yesterday…So keep digging until you hit bed-rock.

Remember; Never ever give up!

“Upon this Rock I will build my church and the very gates of hell shall not prevail against it.” Matt. 16:18

I’m just saying...

If every member were just like you, what kind of Church would it be? What kind of place would it be; I’m just saying

• If they gave like you
• If they prayed like you
• If they worked for the Church like you
• If they spoke about Jesus like you

I’m just saying, would you want to attend that Church?

If every member were just like you, what kind of Christian would they be?

• If they witnessed like you
• If they Loved like you
• If they forgave like you
• If they helped those in need like you

I’m just saying, would they be excited and ready for Jesus' return?

I’m just saying, sometimes life has a way of causing a person to lose focus on what is most important: Jesus said “seek first the Kingdom of God and its righteousness and all of these things will be given unto you”. To seek means to elevate our minds, focus our attention on Christ. Let us not lose focus on why we are here. We are here to make differences in the world, to show the world the Love of God, to win the lost, and to serve God. Never forget that you are the Church, the holy temple of God.

Spiritual Amnesia

Do you suffer from spiritual amnesia?
Ok you might say, No! Well let’s take a test:

1. What did your Pastor preach about Sunday?
2. What book, chapter and verse did your pastor read from?
3. What was the topic?
4. What did you get out of the message?
5. Most of all did you share it?

If you answered “what message” you have full blown SPIRITUAL AMNESIA and you need help right NOW! If you answered “I can’t remember” to only half of the question, then it’s possible that you’re on your way to have Spiritual Amnesia and medication is needed. The point is this; we must retain what has been spoken into your spirit, fight to keep the word in our heart: Read it, Study it, Meditate on it…and you will be like a tree that is planted by rivers of waters that is bringing forth fruit in your season and your leaf will not wither and whatsoever you do it shall prosper.

Because what you don’t know will hurt you.

Be blessed on today…

Hold and Speak the Word of God

2Tim. 1:13 Titus. 2:1

In a time when people are speaking so many things, they are speaking out of pain, from bad experiences, and from wrong interpretations. When this is the case, it is hard for people to move from their past. We must hold fast and speak sound doctrine. The words “sound doctrine” [2Tim. 1:13], means (hugiainonton) interestingly means healthy or healthy-giving. What Paul is saying is, if you want to be healthy in Soul, Mind and Body you must hold fast to sound or “healthy” words (doctrine) that will bring health and deliverance. You may ask, “What words will make me sound and healthy? What words can change my situation?” I’m glad that you asked: in the gospel Jesus said that the “Word that I speak unto you is Life”. Jesus’s words not only give life…it is life. So read the Word, believe the Word, Speak the Word and Live the Word. Yes the devil will come to try your faith but hold fast….

Citizens of the Kingdom

Spurgeon once ask the question, “What is meant by our being citizens in heaven?” He stated:

"It means that we are under heaven's government. Christ the king of heaven reigns in our hearts; our daily prayer is, "Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven." The proclamations issued from the throne of glory are freely received by us: the decrees of the Great King we cheerfully obey. Then as citizens of the New Jerusalem, we share heaven's honors. For we are already sons of God, already princes of the blood imperial; already we wear the spotless robe of Jesus’ righteousness; already we have saints for our companions, Christ for our Brother, God for our Father, and a crown of immortality for our reward. We share the honors of citizenship, for we have come to the general assembly and Church of the first-born whose names are written in heaven. As citizens, we have common rights to all the property of heaven. Ours are its gates of pearl and walls of chrysolite; ours the azure light of the city that needs no candle nor light of the sun; ours the river of the water of life, and the twelve manner of fruits which grow on the trees planted on the banks thereof; there is nothing in heaven that belong not to us. "Things present, or things to come," all are ours. Also as citizens of heaven we enjoy its delights. Do they there rejoice over sinners that repent--prodigals that have returned? So do we. Do they chant the glories of triumphant grace? We do the same. Do they cast their crowns at Jesus' feet? so do we. Do they look forward, waiting for His second advent? We also look and long for His appearing."

"If, then, we are thus citizens of heaven, let our walk and actions be consistent with our high dignity."

By all means "Escape"

Topic: By all means "Escape"....Having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust."
2 Peter 1:4

Vanish for ever all thoughts of indulging the flesh if you would live in the power of your risen Lord. It is ill to believe that a person who is alive in Christ should dwell in the corruption of sin. The Word of God says "Why seek ye the living among the dead?" said the angel to Magdalene. Should the living dwell in the sepulchre? Should divine life be immured in the carnel house of fleshly lust? How can we partake of the cup of the Lord and yet drink the cup of Belial? Surely for believers are free from lusts and sins we are delivered:

Have you also escaped from the more secret and delusive lime-twigs of the Satanic power...Have you come forth from the lust of pride? Have you escaped from slothfulness? Have you clean escaped from carnal security? Are you seeking day by day to live above worldliness, the pride of life, and the ensnaring vice of the enemy? Remember, it is for this that you have been enriched with the treasures of God. If you be indeed the chosen of God, and beloved by Him, do not allow the lavishness of grace to be wasted. Follow after holiness; it is the Christian's crown and glory.

Remember, you are God's chosen.... reign over your lusts. You are God's chosen: do not associate with Belial (the world). Heaven is your portion: live like a heavenly preist, so shall you prove that you have true faith in Jesus; for there cannot be faith in the heart unless there be holiness in the life.

"Lord, I desire to live as one
Who bears a blood-bought name,
As one who fears but grieving Thee,
And knows no other shame."

The Power of ONE

The Power of ONE
I John 4:4

There are times when we think that we are incapable of accomplishing what God puts into our hand, for example; being a single parent, starting a business, writing a book, building a ministry, buying your first home, the list can go on and on. We often times believe that we need a lot of people to help us, to be around us, or maybe you think that you need to know the right person to do what you know that God put into your heart. I would like to give you some good news, the only person that you need on your side is Jesus Christ. He is the one person that can give you the Power to accomplish your goals, build your dream home, and give you back what the devil took from you. He is the POWER OF ONE…One voice that can speak the word to heal your body, the One touch that will break the yoke of the enemy, and the One arm that can rescue you and carry you to a place of safety. Listen to what apostle John wrote in 1 John 4:4, "Ye are of God, little Children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world."

So know this, that as you go on throughout your week know that Jesus Christ, who is the POWER of ONE is in you and you are the greater because of him.

Give Me This Mountain

Give me this mountain
Joshua 14:12

The people of Israel had come to the place of the promised land for the second time after being denied access by God because of their unbelief. Caleb, who is now 85 years old and Joshua being an old man, are the only two remaining survivors from the previous generation that proceeded out of Egypt forty years earlier. They are determined not to be denied access into what is rightfully theirs again. They declared with a resolved, determined, resolute attitude, “Give me this mountain! I will not spend another day, hour, moment in this wilderness. I will believe God, conquer my foe, and embrace the promises of God…..Give me my mountain!!!"

Caleb was sending his brethren a clear signal and his enemies a power warning that "I will not be denied my victory." If we are going to walk in victory, conquer our foe, and embrace the promises of God we must have a resolved, determined and resolute spirit. Victory belongs to you so declare it, believe it and embrace it!!!

Watch Out for the Little Foxes!

Watch out for the little foxes
(Song of Solomon 2:15)

Many times we as Christian can be very alert concerning what we call the big elephant (SIN) that is in the room, but how many of us really pay attention to the little foxes? The little foxes are very destructive; if they get into the vine yard they will destroy your vines. Grapes grow on the vines but the foxes love to eat the grapes before they become ripe, grow, and become clusters. When the grapes are ripe, wine is produced.

In the Bible, wine is compare to the Holy Spirit. It is the Holy Spirit that anoint us, empower us to defeat our enemies and to live for Christ. The Holy Spirit helps us to pray and we walk with God in sweet fellowship. Remember to guard yourself also against the little foxes; little sins are parents of the greatest sins. It doesn't take much: Satan would love to send little foxes your way before you come into the place of your breakthrough, your miracle, or your long awaited blessing to destroy your vine…so pray, be watchful, and remember to guard your vine yard.

Receive the blessing of the Lord

Our Lord Jesus is ever giving, and does not for a solitary instant withdraw His hand. As long as there is a vessel of grace not yet full to the brim, the oil shall not be stayed. He is a sun ever-shining; He is manna always falling round the camp; He is a rock in the desert, ever sending out streams of life from His smitten side; the rain of His grace is always dropping; the river of His bounty is ever-flowing, and the well-spring of His love is constantly overflowing. As the King can never die, so His grace can never fail. Daily we pluck His fruit, and daily His branches bend down to our hand with fresh store of mercy. Today enjoy the blessing of the LORD!!!

What did it cost?

One Man, One Cross and Three Nails:

No one has ever died like Jesus, when I think of what he had to endure, the pain, the agony, and the anguish, all to bring us back into a right relationship with our Heavenly Father we can surely say no one ever will die like him. The price was to costly: no amount of money, gold, nor precious stone would be sufficient. Jesus loved us so, that He gave his own life and blood to set us free from the Sin and the power of darkness that we might worship Him our Lord with a free spirit. Yes it cost Jesus his life to pay the prices for our sins…praise the Lord!!!

So when you get down in your spirit, feel like you want to give in or give up, when the devil comes to bring accusations, indictment, or blame: tell yourself that it cost Jesus to much for you to set in defeat…so get up, step out and begin to move towards your destiny, remember Jesus Love you!!!

There is no loser in me

I want to tell you “There is no loser in you!” When you think about who you are and who’s you are, all of what Jesus Christ has done for you, what He has invested in you to bring you to a prosperous place, you can face your day with this word in your spirit: “There is no loser in me!” You can do all things through Christ that strengthens you. You are created in His Divine Image, how can you lose?! You have His DNA in you; I say again how can you lose…you are a winner!!!

1. Have a winning attitude
2. Stand on His Word
3. Keep a praise for Jesus in your heart

Remember Me

Dear G.M family,

For the whole month of April, let us set aside the time to contemplate on the death, burial and resurrection of our Lord and savior Jesus Christ, remembering the sacrifice that He made so that we might have eternal life. Let’s not become part of the commercialism that will be displayed throughout. Remember, Easter is not about buying new clothes, Easter egg hunting nor is it about a big bunny rabbit…

So, starting April 1, I would like for you to begin reading verses and meditating on what Jesus Christ did for you:
First Week: St. Luke Chap. 19-24
Second Week: St. John. Chap. 12-18
Third Week: St. John Chap. 19-21
Fourth Week: Mark. Chap. 15-16. Matt. 28, Acts. Chap. 1-2

Let us come to service, each Tuesday, Friday night and Sunday morning worship ready to give Jesus the Praise….

Unprecedented Miracle

In order for God to give us an unprecedented miracle there must be an unprecedented situation that you are facing. Unprecedented means unparalleled, unique, unmatched, and you having no record of anyone going through something like what you are facing. Many of God’s people in 2011 have been facing some unparalleled and unique, situations…so I came to tell you that you are the right candidate for what God is about to do in the next three months!

God doesn’t need any reference point, nothing to start with in order to bless you…He doesn’t need your resume nor your address to work a miracle in your favor; He knows where you live. Remember this one thing; the Bible said that the world was created by God out of nothing. He just spoke it into existence.

Just like He spoke the world into existence, He will speak your miracle into existence.

Shoe Testimony

When John the Baptist saw the coming of Jesus Christ he said “I am not worthy to UN-tie the straps that are on His shoes." When I thought about this verse, what came to mind are the untold stories of our shoes. If our shoes could talk I wonder what stories they would tell. Just think about, all the places that we’ve gone, people that we visited, being in the presence of different conversations; I wonder what they would say. The journey of our life can be difficult at times but I just wonder what our shoes would say. Would they be proud of us or shameful of the different places they have gone? What would their testimony be?

Just remember Jesus’ shoes witnessed the gospel being preached to the poor, the blind receiving their sight, the dead being raised, sick bodies being healed, and walking Him to the Cross…but when they put Him on the cross they removed His shoes and nailed His feet to the cross. Yes, His shoes witnessed His crucifixion. But you know that’s not how the story ended…His shoes witnessed Him being raised from the dead with all POWER in His hand! So think about it; if your shoes could tell your story, what would they say?

Power Box

I was in a meeting the other day, and the conversation was about how can we as a plant (Chrysler) save money in house. I sat there and watched people one by one begin to raise their hands. Someone said, “we can turn off computers and lights when we leave the plant”. A supervisor at the table said, “Yes, yes we can even shut off some of the power boxes.”

After that remark there was a hand raised in the distance, he stated his name and that he was just a skilled tradesman. He said, “Sir, we need to be very careful about turning off power boxes; if you turn off the wrong power box we cannot start up the plant. Without power, trucks cannot be built, people cannot work and there would be no running water."

I thought about this man’s statement and said to myself…in our effort to accomplish many things, driving our children to different events and working long hours, we must keep our power box turned on. Without the power of God we would not be able to build our lives; there would be no flowing water of the Holy Spirit, and we cannot effectively work for God. It’s not by might nor by our strength but by the Holy Spirit said the Lord. Remember on this week to keep your power box on.

Things to do to keep your power box on; pray every day, read your Bible, and come to Church!

Impact the Lives of Others

Dear G.M Family

The service [this past] Sunday was powerful, electrifying and empowering. The Lord blessed our souls with His presence. We must remember that God so desires for us to make an IMPACT in the live of others with the gospel of Jesus Christ. Jesus tells us in the gospel according to St. Luke 2:49 “I must be about my Father Business”. So let’s be about our Father’s Business in spreading the good news….on jobs, in our community, and in our homes.

May God bless you with His presence on today to make an IMPACT…

IMPACT!

Jesus has commanded us to go into the world to make an IMPACT with the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Matt. 28: 18-20
And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, [even] unto the end of the world. Amen.

So let’s get busy!

Make an IMPACT!

Dear Members of G.M,

There are times in every life when we need to set aside normal routines to fast and pray. As the Pastor of Gordy Memorial I am calling you to such a time. These are incredibly challenging and exciting days for our Church, Families and our nation. Please set aside the time through the end of this call to Concentration, Prayer and Fasting.

To help focus and guide our prayer each week has been given a theme:

Week 1: Repent, we turn from our sins; individually and corporately. God’s work in our lives begins with repentance. We confess and repent of anything that blocks His blessing in our lives.

Week 2: Rescue, we realize our ultimate and only true hope is in God’s great power and not in our strength. He must rescue and He will save so we must ask Him to deliver us from the threats we face.

Week 3: Renew & Rejoice, We ask God to renew and restore in us the vitality and beauty He intends. We turn away from the past and seek to become new creatures made in the image of Christ. Rejoice we thank God for all He has done, is doing and will do for us. We celebrate the work we can see and mysterious work we are unaware of.

May God fill each day with Joy of His presence and the riches of His grace,

Pastor Daniel R. Grandberry
